In The Loop With Alexandra Amon

This week  the award-winning Ivorian actress and producer,  Alexandra Amon joins us in the show.

Championing the growth of the African entertainment industry on the international stage Her dream to achieve global recognition was realised when it was announced a few weeks ago that BET France secured the rights for her self-directed TV series, Boutique Hotel.

This means that the series, which was written and created by Alexandra (and in which she also stars
as the main character), will be broadcast on BET in more than 25 French-speaking countries around the world. The announcement follows her recent invitation to attend Nollywood Week at the Paris Film Festival
earlier this year, who’s aim it is to bring the best of African cinema
to new French audiences.

This international accolade is well timed after the recent formation of The African Audio-visual and Cinema Commission in 2016 which was put in place to help boost the African film industry, which accounts for
US$5 billion in continental GDP. With the current push for growth, the industry is expected to grow to over 20 million jobs and US$20 billion in annual GDP over the next few years.
