Comic Con Officially Launches Comic Con Cape Town 2020

Reed Exhibitions Africa and ReedPOP have officially announced that Comic Con Cape Town will take place from 1 to 3 May 2020 at the Cape Town Stadium 다운로드!


The inaugural Comic Con Cape Town will be held from 1 – 3 May 2020 at the Cape Town Stadium in Greenpoint, hosted by the City of Cape Town 다운로드. An avid gamer, Bryan develops business relationships globally to bring super exciting activations and exhibitors to Comic Con Cape Town and Comic Con Africa. He’s passionate about making the Comic Con events exciting and relevant to fans. When he doesn’t have a controller in hand, he is often attending Cons around the world to learn and bring new experiences to South Africa.

Reed Exhibitions Africa and Reedpop, the world’s largest producer of pop culture events including New York Comic Con and Comic Con Africa, are the proud hosts of the inaugural Comic Con Cape Town in 2020. The three day festival focusses on all elements of pop culture and brings international and local comic artists, film and TV celebrities, and Cosplayers to South African shores where they meet fans, sign autographs and have photo ops. Pop culture is growing rapidly in South Africa and the standard of our Cosplay is world class.

Packed with championships, competitions, super show specials, product launches, workshops, panels, Q&A sessions, screenings, activations, and interactive experiences, there is something for everyone to enjoy whether you are a casual fan or a bona fidegeek. We are passionate about developing local fandoms and services and pop culture. In 2018 the South African Comic Con journey began when the annual Comic Con Africa was launched in Johannesburg to much excitement and with great success. In 2019 Comic Con Africa reached 71,000
guests over four days.



Organisers announced the first international guests who will be attending Comic Con Cape Town, the first of which is global superstar Ricky Whittle. Whittle is best known for his role as Shadow Moon in American Gods and Lincoln in the post-apocalyptic drama The 100.

The first Comic Book guest to be announced is Eisner Award nominated comic illustrator, painter, and designer Mark Brooks. Mark is known for his acclaimed interior work on Marvel Comics’ Star Wars Han Solo. He’s currently the cover artist for DC Comics’ iconic Batman series, Detective Comics. He’s on regular rotation at Marvel creating covers for numerous titles including Avengers, Secret Empire and Conan the Barbarian.

Comic Con Cape Town today announced that Tom Hopper will be attending all three days of Comic Con Cape Town. His most recent Netflix show The Umbrella Academy has fans on tenterhooks waiting for the second season. Tom’s attendance at the Con is sure to delight a broad range of fans who have followed his characters across multiple hit shows. Tom will participate in live Q&A sessions and panel discussions with Comic Con Cape Town visitors on our main stage, and fans can also book photograph and autograph ops with him.
