Data Usage
2oceansvibe Radio is very light on data usage and uses about 20Mb of data per hour of listening. Most of our regular listeners use a data bundle. You can set one up by contacting your service provider. Cell C, for example, charges R150 for 500Mb of data a month. that will give you over an hour a day listening in your car via your mobile streaming app!

There is a major bug in your Android app.
Works fine in portrait mode but when put in landscape the play button is hidden and the streaming stops.
im using HTC desire

My phone and most others automatically put into landscape when the phone is on its side. bit of a pain having to hold the phone upright.

Hi Guys,
Great idea and definitely the way of the future. If I download the blackberry app will the streaming use my BIS service that I pay for every month or will I need to get a seperate data bundle?

Just bumped you via ‘Bizcom’ (recognition to SA’s top daily Biz site) and started listening – just music right now but i think i am going to enjoy the line-up.
I also loaded the App on my BB and was quite surprised by the streaming delay, not that it makes any difference (i mean if i miss the announcement that the world ends in 90 seconds will it really matter?).
‘Strength to your arm’ and i look forward to a real alternative.

I dont understand,…. technology is supposed to make life easier, so in order for me to listen to 2OV I must download an app (taking up valuable memory space on my phone) sync it with my radio in my car and then use valuable megs on my data plan just to listen to a radio station, where I could just tune in via a frequency and listen without costing me anything? C’mon guys that makes absolutly no sense what so ever….??
