It is a given that nobody likes to be sick and at our most vulnerable we turn to our doctors and health care providers to help us back on the road to recovery by providing us with proper and ethical medical care. Yet it seems that medical negligence or malpractice is increasing in our country every year.
There might be many reasons why medical negligence claims have increased dramatically over the past few years in South Africa, ranging from a doctor having to treat more patients than he can handle because the hospitals are understaffed, to patients just being fed up with bad service and the violation of their rights as patients.
While it is not always easy to lodge a claim against any professional, many people find the thought of lodging a medical negligence claim against their doctor a daunting task, so this week on the Mommy Matters Show on 2oceansvibe radio, we’re going to be talking to Romany Sutherand, an associate from A. Batchelor & Associates Attorneys, about how to do this, and in what cases you shouldn’t be hesitating to.
Romany specializes in Medical Negligence and Personal Injury law, with focus on Obstetrics & Gynecology, and answers listener questions in the podcast below.
As all of you know, the rock-royalty ensemble, Kings Of Chaos took place in Cape Town this past weekend. The band is made up of legends from a mixture of bands including Deep Purple, Deff Leopard, Guns ‘n Roses, Alterbridge and Collective Soul. Abstract AIMEE was able to snag an interview with Myles Kennedy, one of the lead vocalist in this year’s SA Kings of Chaos and frontman for heavy rock band Alter Bridge.
Myles Kennedy was, for the longest time, music’s best kept secret. Aside from being one of the best vocalists in music, he is also an exceptionally talented guitarist and songwriter. He is best known for his work in the acclaimed rock band Alter Bridge, as well as being the lead vocalist in legendary guitarist Slash’s solo project, ‘Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators’. When Guns n Roses were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, Myles Kennedy was chosen as the vocalist to front the band in the live performance on the night. He is currently at work on the fourth upcoming and untitled Alter Bridge album, as well as his first ever solo album.
Click through for the podcast where Aimee and Myles delve into details on his darkest album based on his struggle with faith and spirituality, his solo project, death, addiction and his first impression of SA.
