The excitement has been increasingly mounting on The Just Josie Show for one of HipHop’s legends to visit SA. Expected to set the stage ablaze, which he certainly delivered in JHB while casually ‘lighting one up’ mid performance, Snoop Dogg once again brought the ‘fire’ to the mother city on Tuesday evening.
Surrounded by every cultural group imaginable, with a Rasta blissing out next to me juxtaposed to the screaming blonde groupies wearing ‘SHADY’ flat caps on my other side: this was a concert for all.
Snoop performed all his big hits alongside some smoking hot back-up dancers and also got the crowd involved, ‘two in the air’ for a 2PAC tribute and the evening ended on the highest note with everyone pulling together for a group effort of ’Young, Wild and Free’.
I’m happy to report that this is not where it ends though, waiting back-stage dreaming of my back-up video girl aspirations and thinking how this as good a chance as any, we wait for the okay from ‘Nasty Dogg’ to join the heady- atmosphered room for a meet and great with the legend. Casually playing dj on his MAC, he selects a gangster tune, puts the pimp cup down and welcomes us for some lovvvve. Snoop Lion we LOVE you.
Eric Lanlard is a Master Pâtissier and twice winner of the prestigious ‘Continental Pâtissier of the Year’ at the British Baking Awards.
The Mother City will be hit by a storm of culinary delights and innovation as the best chefs in the world descend upon the CTICC for the Good Food & Wine Show, 23 – 26 May 2013.
Being graced with Eric’s presence in Cape Town, Josie simply had to catch up with this famous French pastry chef. They chat about his all-time favorite dessert, travel and plans for the rest of 2013, the launch of his new book, ‘Chocolat’, and how he has changed the face of British Patisserie. Eric is a lover of SA – so they’ll also chat about his holiday highlights and time here.
Catch the interview on The Just Josie Show later today and make your way to the Good Food and Wine show this weekend to see the famous French pastry chef in action. With talent and personality in equal measures, it’s no wonder Eric’s turning so many Saffers baking mad.

Our final show at the station was a bumper edition where we played music highlights from past shows including, in a very rare moment of self-promotion, some of our own material. We spoke to Mike Rogers, a young comedian and impressionist who’s ‘Michael McIntyre’ is second to none! You can check out his range of impressions here. Andrew challenged Dylan and Simon to ‘The Greatest Quiz of All Time’ and the competition was fierce! We also heard from American Emo-Pop/Poetic-Punk band Kings of the Sky as they shared a very stripped down, naked and vulnerable version of one of their anthems. You can listen to the full show here.
If you’re stumbling upon the concept of The Brothers Streep Show for the very first time on this blog and would like to listen back to some of the old shows, here are a few of our personal favourites:

This week on the Mommy Matters Show on 2oceansvibe we’ll be talking to Claire Minnaar, owner of Celebration.co.za and Momtrepreneur.co.za, an ordinary woman who, just like most damsels out there, have been stuck in the boring same-old-same-old routine. Having faced the ups and downs of balancing motherhood and running a business, both Claire and her business partner Jeanne Keyser, a sex coach, have had to experiment in the bedroom, seek guidance and make many sacrifices in order to maintain a healthy marriage. And so, after conducting comprehensive surveys and doing intensive research into relationships and sex within relationships, the Goddess School was born.
G-School is a brand new online course designed to help women across the world rediscover their raw sexuality, release the rocking goddess within and reignite the sexual flame between husband and wife.
We’re going to be investigating this fun and interactive 8-week journey on our show this week, that is designed to help women improve their relationships, boost their confidence and ultimately improve their sex lives – or as the lovely G-School ladies refer to it, “finding your inner Goddess”
Tune in HERE at 9am on Tuesday morning to be part of the conversation on 2oceansVibe Radio, and you could be a winner of this 8-week course, or a discount voucher towards a course, to turn your boring bedroom routine into a sultry boudoir of excitement and pleasure.
You don’t want to miss it. If you have any questions for Claire, please feel free to leave them below or if you would prefer to keep them anonymous, send to Kathy@MommyMatters.co.za, and we will pose them to her on air and you can hear her thoughts.

In this week’s M&G Newsroom, Verashni Pilllay and Nickolaus Bauer took listeners through the stories naking headlines. From the Guptagate Ministerial report to Zimbabwe’s state media celebrating the “exposure” of a sinister campaign for the opposition by Coca-Cola.
Thalia Holmes joined them in studio to talk about an interesting initiative that sees people from improverished areas planting trees and collecting in exchange for bicycles. Will it work? Listen to the podcast to find out.
